About Jackie

Hi there. I'm Jackie.

My passion lies in supporting those who come from a narcissistic family system. I understand this unique experience firsthand. Many who grow up in these environments develop traits like high achievement, perfectionism and not feeling good enough, feeling very anxious, depressed, and being really self critical-often at the expense of their own well-being. I’m here to help you break free from these patterns, reclaim your confidence, and create a life that truly feels like your own.

My Path to Becoming a Therapist

Up until 1990, I was a professional designer living and working in New York City. I have a creative mind. I naturally look at things from many different perspectives.

At a certain point, I realized that my focus was shifting, and I began to get curious about the products I was designing from a different standpoint. I wanted to learn more about why people bought or used my designs and how they created change in their lives. I decided to go back to school to become a therapist.

IFS Therapy

I am a seasoned level 3 Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist. What I love about IFS is that it is gentle in its approach, but it is very powerful and creates lasting change.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidenced based psychospiritual treatment modality based on the premise that the mind is naturally made up of multiple parts. Each of us has various aspects of our personality ( in IFS, we refer to these aspects as parts) that shape the way we live, influence our decisions, and impact our emotions and our bodies.

If you’ve found yourself on my website, you may have parts that are perfectionistic, anxious, indecisive, or depressed. Over time, these parts have helped you navigate life in an effort to survive. For example, if you struggle with indecision, you might have a part that fears the ramifications of making the wrong choice.

IFS offers a compassionate and creative approach to understanding and working with these parts, helping you achieve greater balance and harmony within your internal system.

Fun Facts...

I am a proud Swifty over 50. I love my dog to pieces. Some of my favorite things to do are to bake pretty much anything from French pastry to chocolate chip cookies, learn Italian (it's a process), practice Pilates, cheer on the Syracuse Orange, and forever deepen my knowledge of IFS. It's so gentle and respectful in its approach, yet so powerful and nuanced.
